LAZARUS AND THE RICH MAN

It is no coincidence that Yashua raised a man named Lazarus from the dead.
( John 11 -12 )
Other names similarities are found in Scripture that make a point.
Saul whose name was changed to Paul, replaces King Saul.
Even Judas was replaced by another Judas.

Now, let us look at Yashua,s parable.

( LUKE 16 )

:19-21

1. Yashua is speaking to the Pharisees. (:14)
2. They are represented as the rich man. Corrupted Jews.
3. Lazarus at the gate = outside = gentiles, in spiritual poverty.
4. Jews do not share their wealth of knowledge, but hoard it.
Thus, the gentiles are left with crumbs of knowledge.
:22-26
1. Beggar dies first and goes to the heart of Heaven = first resurrection.
2. The rich man dies and is buried = second resurrection.
3. No one is actually conscious in hades / the grave, so we know this is a riddle.
4. He calls out to Father Abraham = Again, he represents Jews.
It is as if he expects Abraham to order Lazarus around, as if a servant to his need.
5. He begs for just a drop of water to cool his tongue, complaining he is TORMENTED
in flames.

If you recall from the HELL study, this means BOUND in flame.
But why is it so hot in some cold tomb or grave?
This is a heat bound to the ground of the Earth.
SCORCHING HEAT
(Rev.  & )
The Rich Man is coming closer to the LAKE OF FIRE punishment.
(Rev. 20)

6. The point is made that the rich man had a good life, but Lazarus a bad life.
This is a condemnation of the Jewish leadership not treating gentiles kindly.
7. Now Lazarus is rewarded with great comfort, but the rich man reaped what he sewed.
This shows that being a good person of righteousness is better than being a pious hypocrite.
In other words, worldly stature and Scriptural knowledge, particularly works WITHOUT faith
will not suffice to allow one into the Kingdom of God.
8. This man is also informed of a great gulf, or chasm, that exists between heaven
and hell, or life everlasting and the grave.
One that can not be crossed or breached by any physical process.
As for the limitations of any spiritual process, once resurrected into an etherial form can not
return to a physical / MORTAL form.
This chasm is simply that of being in a position that is beyond help or hope.
Flames of physical consumption (rotting away of flesh) and that of spiritual consumption
of the entire, spiritual SOUL are imminent.

:27-31
1. The rich man now realizes his ultimate destiny, or final fate, is sealed.
He BEGS, like a beggar that Lazarus once was, to have Lazarus sent to warn his brothers,
so that they might not suffer the same fate.
2. He has FIVE brothers, making him the sixth.
This not only harkens to six days of creation, but of half of the 12 tribes of Israel / Jacobites.
TORMENT is mentioned, again.
Again, this means that he is bound to suffer the judgement and punishment of the
LAKE OF FIRE, or SECOND / FINAL DEATH.
This is where the weeping and gnashing of teeth begins and ends.
( Luke 13:28 )
3. Abraham informs him that they have Moses and the prophets to listen to and hear.
This means the Law / Torah and the Prophecies of God.
The rich man is animate that if someone from the DEAD went to them, his brothers would repent.
This indicates that it must be someone who experienced the reward of the first resurrection.
4. Abraham insists that if they do not listen and hear what the Law and Prophecies speak,
neither would they listen to someone resurrected.
This statement speaks volumes!
Moses and the prophets are dead.
Messiah was [ to be ] resurrected, but they did not listen to him,
even when alive.
In fact, he was standing right there before them,
fulfilling the Law and the Prophecies,
speaking directly to them!

This is what Yashua the Messiah is speaking to you, so that you might hear what the
Spirit is conveying.
LISTEN!
You only have one of two choices.
The wide and spacious path into destruction
or
the straight / steep and narrow / cramped path unto everlasting life.
FEW find and choose that pathway.
( Matthew 7:14 )
Perhaps a tenth?
